In November 2024, Kering launched the Kering Generation Award X Jewelry in collaboration with CIBJO – The World Jewellery Confederation, and with scientific coordination by Poli.Design – Politecnico di Milano. This initiative was established to foster innovation and promote sustainability within the jewelry sector.
The World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO) is set to begin a four-month public consultation of the “The Blue List – The Responsible Jewellery Supply Chain Lexicon,” which, once approved, will serve as a glossary of universally accepted terminology for the jewellery, gemstone and precious metals industries related to responsible sourcing and sustainability.

The World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO), the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) and the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) are once again expressing concern about the presence in the marketplace of irradiated rubies and sapphires, particularly sourced in Sri Lanka.
The definition, which covers recycled materials recovered during manufacturing and fabrication processes before being sold to consumers, and also gold recovered from materials after they have been sold to consumers, was developed through extensive discussions among industry experts.
