Speaking this morning to the High-Level Segment of the United Nation’s Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Gaetano Cavalieri, President of the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO), emphasized the potential that the jewellery industry has as a force for positive societal development, particularly during the period following the COVID pandemic. Among the leaders in attendance during the gathering was UN Secretary General António Guterres.

The protection of individual creativity in the jewellery and watch industries, be it related to the design of jewellery, watches or gemstone cuts, or to the branding of collections and companies, will come under the spotlight during a CIBJO Jewellery Industry Voices seminar, which will take place as part of Initiatives in Art and Culture’s 13th Annual Gold + Diamond Conference in New York, July 17-19, 2023.

The American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) has announced that it has resumed its membership in The World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO) after an absence of seven years. The decision comes ahead of the 2023 CIBJO Congress, which will take place October 3–5 in Jaipur, India, a key coloured gemstone manufacturing and trade centre.
