He co-authored the books “The Crown Jewels,” and “The Pearl & the Dragon.” He also is President of CIBJO’s Sector A, which oversees all gem materials, President of the CIBJO Pearl Commission and Vice President of the organisation’s Coral Commission.
“The CIBJO Academy was created to make accessible to the jewellery industry the massive body of work, including trade standards and principles, and harmonized terminology and nomenclature, which is produced, refined and updated on a constant basis by the various commissions and special committees operating under the umbrella of our World Jewellery Confederation,” said CIBJO President Gaetano Cavalieri. “We are extremely fortunate to have a world-class expert of the calibre of Ken Scarratt heading the new body, and I strongly recommend that participants and visitor to the Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair take advantage of this special opportunity.”
