The Jewellery Industry Voices seminar, which took place on September 7, 2025, in the Palladio Theatre in Vicenza, Italy, during the VICENZAORO JEWELLERY SHOW, explored how the jewellery industry is moving from ESG ambition to implementation — highlighting practical tools and frameworks that support progress across different parts of the value chain. Panellists reflected on developments over the past year—from geopolitical shifts to new regulations—and share how initiatives like the CIBJO ESG Wheel and the World Jewellery and Watch Initiaive 20230 are helping companies navigate materiality, improve performance, and align with evolving global expectations.

The seminar was moderated by Jon Key, Founder and Managing Director, Key & Co. and an ESG and sustainability advisor to CIBJO. Panellists included John Mulligan, Head of Sustainability Strategy, World Gold Council and President of CIBJO’s Sustainable Development Commission; Wesley Hunt, Director, Programme Management at De Beers Consumer & Brands and Chair of CIBJO’s Laboratory-Grown Diamonds Committee; Iris Van der Veken, Executive Director at the Watch & Jewellery Initiative 2030; and Helen Mitchell, and ESG and sustainability advisor to CIBJO.
