Public Consultation

We thank you for agreeing to participate in the public consultation of “The Blue List – The Responsible Jewellery Supply Chain Lexicon.” Once approved by the CIBJO Board of Directors, it will serve the greater jewellery industry as a recommended lexicon of terminology to be used to describe responsibly sourced products and sustainable practices in the jewellery, gemstone and precious metals supply chains.

The draft document proposed for public consultation has been compiled by the CIBJO Jewellery Industry Supply Chain Nomenclature Committee, which is an all-industry working group, with members representing various industry supply chains, whose members are listed below. The Committee’s objective is to establish harmonised and clear definitions of key marketing terms used by the industry, ensuring that they are accurate, substantiated, clear, and easily understood by all stakeholders, particularly the consumer.

The public consultation is being conducted over a period of four months, starting May 5, 2025, and concluding on September 6, 2025.

The first approved edition of “The Blue List” will be released on October 27, 2025, during the 2025 CIBJO Congress in Paris.
