Sustainability in the gold and precious metals sectors
September 6, 2025

The Jewellery Industry Voices seminar, which was conducted on September 6, 2025, in the Palladio Theatre, in Vicenza, during the VICENZAORO jewellery show, explored the challenges of establishing robust and credible responsible sourcing practices in the gold and precious metals sectors, and embedding sustainability objectives—both social and environmental—into core business strategies. It examined how organisations across the gold and precious metals supply chain can better demonstrate progress, and also will consider whether expanding the scope of the precious metals sector’s ambitions may require new forms of collaboration, partnerships, and behavioural change.

The seminar was moderated by John Mulligan, Head of Sustainability Strategy, World Gold Council / President CIBJO Sustainable Development Commission. Panellists included Jonathan Jodry, Group Business Development Director, Metalor Technologies SA; Alice Vanni, CSR Director, Italpreziosi S.p.A.; Estelle Levin-Nally, CEO & Founder, Levin Sources; and Damiano Zito, CEO, Progold S.p.A.
