It is built on two internationally accepted standards: the ISO 18323 Standard (\u201cJewellery \u2013 Consumer confidence in the diamond industry\u201d) and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cibjo.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/20-12-26-Oficial-Diamond-Book.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CIBJO Diamond Blue Book<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><style type=\"text\/css\">.fusion-fullwidth.fusion-builder-row-1 { overflow:visible; a \u201c<strong>diamond<\/strong>\u201d always means a <strong>natural diamond<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A <strong>synthetic diamond<\/strong> is an <strong>artificial product<\/strong> that has essentially the same physical characteristics as a <strong>diamond<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>An <strong>imitation diamond<\/strong>, also named a <strong>diamond simulant<\/strong>, is an <strong>artificial product<\/strong> that imitates the appearance of diamonds without having their chemical composition, physical properties or structure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A <strong>gemstone<\/strong> is a <strong>mineral of natural origin<\/strong> that is used in jewellery for reasons of combined beauty, rareness and intrinsic value.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><style type=\"text\/css\">.fusion-fullwidth.fusion-builder-row-2 { overflow:visible; \u201claboratory-grown\u201d or \u201claboratory-created.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Do not use abbreviations<\/strong> such as \u201clab-grown\u201d and \u201clab-created.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Do not use the following terms:<\/strong> \u201ccultured diamonds\u201d and \u201ccultivated diamonds\u201d as \u201ccultured\u201d and \u201ccultivated\u201d refer exclusively to organic\/biogenic products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Do not use the following terms:<\/strong> \u201creal,&#8221; \u201cgenuine,&#8221; \u201cprecious,&#8221; \u201cauthentic\u201d and \u201cnatural\u201d as those apply exclusively to natural minerals and gemstones.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><style type=\"text\/css\">.fusion-fullwidth.fusion-builder-row-3 { overflow:visible; Therefore, use the word \u201cdiamond\u201d without a qualifier when referring to a diamond.<\/strong> If differentiation from synthetic diamonds is required, use the term \u201cnatural diamonds\u201d as term of equivalent meaning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Do not use the following confusing expressions:<\/strong> \u201cnatural treated diamonds\u201d and \u201ctreated natural diamonds\u201d. Instead, simply use \u201ctreated diamonds\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><style type=\"text\/css\">.fusion-fullwidth.fusion-builder-row-4 { overflow:visible;
