WEATHER
Jaipur is located inland, on the eastern border of the Thar Desert. At an altitude of 431 metres (1417 feet) above the sea level, it has a semi arid climate with relatively high temperatures throughout the year. The city is surrounded by by Aravalli Hills from three sides, which protect it from the rough and dry climate of the desert region, but it experiences relatively less humidity that what commonly is associated with India.
The year is broadly divided into four seasons. The winter season starts in mid December and runs through to mid February. The summer or hot weather season is from March to May, The wet monsoon season stretches from the end of June to mid September, and October and November are known as the transit period or postmonsoon
Annual precipitation is more than 63 centimetres, falling mostly in July and August due to monsoon. This causes the average temperatures in these two months to be lower compared to the drier months of May and June.
October, when the CIBJO Congress will be held, is known as a warm month. The average maximum daytime temperature is 34.3°C (93.74°F). The average minimum temperature goes down to around 19.9°C (67.82°F).
October is a dry month with an average of 10 millimetres (0.4 inches) of rain. There is generally around one rainy day.
