TRAVELLING TO BAHRAIN
Via Air
Bahrain International Airport (IATA: BAH) is located in Muharraq in the Eastern province of Manama. Gulf Air is the national courier of Bahrain and offers excellent connections to and from the Middle East, the Indian sub-continent and North & East Africa. Among the other international airlines providing services to and from Bahrain International Airport include Air India, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines, Etihad, KLM, Lufthansa, Oman Air, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Turkish Airlines.
Via Road
Bahrain is a 30-minute drive from the eastern province of Saudi Arabia, and an hour drive from King Fahad International Airport (DMM) in Dammam.
Via Sea
Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman port is home to 43 cruise liners that arrive in Bahrain annually.
VISAS
All nationalities wishing to enter the Kingdom of Bahrain require an entry visa.
Citizens of the Kuwait, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are exempted from having to apply for a visa permit. Residents of GCC countries who have been living in a GCC country for more than six months and have valid return visa to their country of residency do not need to apply for a visa.
The following nationalities can receive a visa upon arrival and do not need to apply in advance:
All European Union citizens, Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Hong Kong, Russia, Singapore, San Marino, South Korea, Suriname, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Vatican City, and Venezuela.
An eVisa (obtained by visiting https://visitbahrain.bh/visa-entry-information/) are issued to visitors from the following countries:
Antigua and Barbuda Bahamas, BOTCs (British Overseas Territory Countries), Cameroon, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Grenada, Haiti, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Gabon, Ghana, Kenya, Jordan, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Senegal, Seychelles, South Africa, Taiwan and Trinidad and Tobago.
eVisa holders are not required to stamp the eVisa on to their passports before arriving in Bahrain.
Citizens from other countries will be sent visa application forms by the CIBJO Secretariat. They should request that the forms be sent by contacting the Secretariat by email (cibjo@cibjo.org), and include a scan of the photo page of their passport along with the request.
CLIMATE
The weather in Bahrain is very hot during the summer months from May to September. In November, the time of the congress temperatures typically are pleasant.
